PremierBet ranks favorably compared to most of its competitors. Its payout of 95% tops Betway, 22Bet, and HollywoodBets, which each have a payout of 94%. It allows bets as low as 35 TZS ($0.014). 22Bet and BetWinner have a bottom limit of €0.20 ($0.23). It also has a minimum withdrawal of 100 TZS ($0.040) in Tanzania and 100 Kz ($0.11) in Angola. For comparison, Betika and HollywoodBets set the limit to 50 KSh ($0.39) and R100 ($5.78). 

PremierBet covers 20 sports, which pales in comparison to Betway’s 36, 22Bet’s 43, BetWinner’s 43, and HollywoodBets’ 33. It limits the maximum profit to 159,250,000 Kz ($173,664). Betway, BetWinner, and HollywoodBets offer unlimited profit. 

About PremierBet and Premier Entertainment Africa Limited

The ownership of PremierBet is unclear. It is operated in each market by a local company. For example, in Tanzania, the company in charge of the bookmaker is Premier Entertainment Africa Limited. The Malawi version of the website mentions Sports Betting Company LTD as the service provider. 

There is no publicly available information about the ownership, corporate structure, or financial health of these companies. 

PremierBet mainly operates in Africa, where it is recognized as one of the continent’s leading brands. Its target audience is punters and soccer fans who prefer betting through mobile phones. The bookie offers well-optimized mobile sites, support for mobile payment services, and registration with phone numbers. 

Where You Can Bet with PremierBet

PremierBet has a large presence in Africa. It runs sportsbooks across the continent and claims it is currently available in 15 countries, although the real number might be lower than that. This includes Nigeria, where the bookie operates under the Nairabet brand. The bookmaker also accepts punters from several other regions. You can bet in Malawi and other African countries.

In Tanzania, PremierBet is run by Entertainment Africa Ltd and has online and land-based presence. It has more than 100 betting shops in the country. The bookie holds a license from the Gaming Board of Tanzania. 

PremierBet Angola

PremierBet is the leading online bookmaker in Angola. It was a recipient of the Superbrands Angola award in 2024 and 2025. The bookie holds a license (B200708003601662865666/ISJ/MF/20) from the country’s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ). 

PremierBet Côte d’Ivoire

It appears that PremierBet has ceased its operation in Côte d’Ivoire. There is an announcement on the bookie’s Instagram that the local platform will be terminated at the end of October 2025. The website was also “under maintenance” during our review. 

PremierBet Senegal

PremierBet is no longer active in Senegal. The bookmaker stopped offering services in the country in 2024. 

PremierBet Mali

PremierBet in Mali is owned by the company Premier Mali. The sportsbook claims a license from Premier Bet PMU, which could indicate some kind of partnership with state-owned operator Pari Mutuel Urbain du Mali. The country currently doesn’t have an independent gambling regulator that issues licenses. 

PremierBet Cameroon

RJC Ltd. operates PremierBet in Cameroon. The bookie’s local website claims a license from the Gaming Board of Cameroon, but no further info is provided.

PremierBet Gabon

In Gabon, PremierBet has a license (ID 0078/MI) from the Gaming Board of Gabon. The website is available in French and English. 

PremierBet Malawi

Sports Betting Company LTD is the company that operates PremierBet in Malawi. The bookie is licensed by the Malawi Gaming & Lotteries Authority (MAGLA). It has an online sportsbook and land-based shops across the country. 

Regulatory Track Records

PremierBet faced several troubles with regulators in Africa over the years. It stopped operating in Rwanda after being denied the renewal of its license by the country’s regulator, the Ministry of Trade & Industry. There are also reports about the bookmaker facing issues with Liberia’s regulator for offering its services in some counties without a proper license. 

There is no public information about PremierBet actually being fined by regulators. 

Odds

PremierBet posts first odds for football up to two weeks before the kick-off. However, this depends on the competition. For example, punters can browse prices for two upcoming matchdays in the Premier League. The odds for lesser-known leagues are shared for the upcoming matchday, usually seven or fewer days before the start of the game. For basketball, the odds are shared up to 48 hours before kick-off. The outright prices for next season’s winners become available shortly after the previous season ends. 

The bookie offers only decimal odds format, with the prices being displayed to two decimals. There is a real time odds-change indicator on the platform: the odds box becomes highlighted in green when the odds increase, and highlighted in red when they decrease. PremierBet doesn’t have historical odds accessible in the bet slip or built-in odds comparison tools.

The bookmaker has a user-friendly margin for football, which ranges between 4% and 4.5%. Punters can also find good odds for basketball and American football, where the margin is around 5%. Tennis and ice hockey have a high margin of around 10% and 8%, respectively. 

Payment Options

PremierBet provides locally popular payment methods in all of its markets. In Africa, these are mainly mobile payment services and digital wallets, with the addition of bank transfers in some countries. 

For example, in Tanzania, punters can top up their accounts using mobile payment solutions like Airtel, Mixxx by Yass, Vodacom M-Pesa, and Halo Pesa. The minimum amount is 100 TZS, and the maximum is 300,000 TZS. There is also an option to buy vouchers in shops or make a deposit through an agent. These payment solutions come with a minimum limit of 500 TZS and a maximum limit of 1,000,000 TZS.

For withdrawals via voucher, the minimum amount is 2,500 TZS and the maximum amount is 50,000,000 TZS. The other withdrawal methods include Airtel, Vodacom, Tigo, and Zantel Eypesa. They come with 4,000 TZS minimum and 3,000,000 TZS maximum per transaction. 

In Nigeria, bettors can use Interswitch, Paystack, XpressPay, Flutterwave, PalmPay, and transfers via GTBank. In Malawi, options include Airtel, Mpamba, and local banks. Angolan punters can use vouchers, Afrimoney, and TeloPay. 

The bookie doesn’t display information about fees and processing time. However, there are deposit and withdrawal minimums available for each method in the Cashier section. Also, you can find step-by-step guides and FAQs with screenshots that explain the deposit and withdrawal process. 

PremierBet doesn’t offer payments via e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller. Also, there is no support for cryptocurrencies. 

Betting Variety

At PremierBet, punters can wager on 20 distinct sports. Besides the mainstream options like football, basketball, and tennis, the bookie provides markets for niche events like water polo, volleyball, and futsal. 

The bookmaker’s Esports offer is scarce. There are only markets for eFootball competitions in the majority of markets. Novelty bets on politics or entertainment are not included. There’s also no support for newer sports like pickleball.

The core sports have impressive coverage in terms of competitions offered. You’ll be able to find top tiers and lower divisions across most nations. Additionally, the women’s leagues and youth championships are included. You’ll be able to wager on the American NSWL, English Women’s Super League, and Uruguay’s Women’s Primera Division in football, or New Zealand’s Tauihi League and Serbian 1. ZLS in basketball. The pre-season matches, friendlies, regional cups, and reserve leagues are available. 

The selection of market trails behind the top sportsbooks. There are fewer than 100 markets available for flagship matches. The offer centers on game results, double chance, correct score, and over/unders. The player props are limited to goal scorers. Team props include over/under on corners and cards. There are no alternative spreads and totals with fine stepping. 

The bookie offers Bet Builders on high-profile events with the option of combinable props. Punters are also able to wager on season/tournament winners, top goalscorers, and winners of various awards, including Ballon d’Or and NBA MVP. The cross-sports outright parlays are accepted. 

For most major sports events, PremierBet provides analytics and stats. For example, you’ll be able to see win probability, head-to-head record, standings, and lineups for football matches. There is also a comprehensive Stats section for all sports. 

Live Betting and Streaming

Most pre-match sports at PremierBet are offered live. This includes niche events like rugby, darts, and handball. You’ll also find live markets, which are available 24/7, for low-tier leagues. 

There are between 50 and 60 live markets available on flagship football matches. It includes totals, next goal, double chance, and race to the number of corners. There are no player props or fast markets available. 

Some versions of PremierBet, like the one in Tanzania, claim to offer live streams for several sports. However, we were unable to launch any of the streams during our review. There are animated match-trackers with live stats alongside a real time feed of key stats instead. We were able to access a comprehensive scoreboard with all the clock, cards, substitutions, and VAR checks, among others. There is also a “Timeline” tab, where the action is covered in text form minute by minute.

Full cash out is available on most live selections for football and basketball. The feature isn’t available for other sports. 

Bonuses and Promotions

PremierBet offers a deposit-match welcome bonus in most of its markets. There is no need to enter a promo code. In Tanzania, bettors can claim a 150% match on their first deposit up to 100,000 TZS and get a free 3,000 TZS bet for their second deposit. The bonus comes with a 5x wagering requirement on bonus + deposit amount on multi bets with two or more selections at minimum odds of 2.00 per selection. 

In Angola, there is a 200% deposit match for new users up to 50,000 Kz with an additional free bet for five straight daily logins. The same offer is in Malawi up to 50,000 MWK and Liberia up to 20,000 LRD. 

In Nigeria, new punters get a 100% match on their first deposit, up to ₦10,000, in the form of a free bet. The free bet needs to be wagered on a bet slip with at least 1.50 odds. 

PremierBet offers a variety of regular promos, with some of them overlapping and others being exclusive to a certain market. In most countries, gamblers can get one free bet after placing 10 bets on live markets. The bookmaker also provides free bets for special events like UEFA Champions League matches and some Premier League games. In Nigeria, punters can claim a portion of the payout for losing bets with 10 or more selections if their prediction missed on one game. 

The bookie also provides daily odds boosts for high-profile events and runs a loyalty program. 

VIP Club

PremierBet has a VIP club in markets like Angola, Malawi, and Liberia. There are four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each tier comes with special benefits. Starting from the Bronze tier, punters can get exclusive promotions. As they level up, they get upgraded bonuses, a personalized account manager, invites to VIP events, weekly cashback, and a referral bonus. The users’ tiers are based on their activity in the previous month. 

In Tanzania, the VIP club is replaced by a loyalty program called Rewards Hub. Bettors collect points by placing bets and completing challenges. The more points they accumulate, the greater their level becomes, and they are able to unlock special bonuses. The coins they collect can be exchanged in the Shop section for free bets, electronic appliances, or even cars. There are eight levels, ranging from Rookie to Legend. 

Website

PremierBet has a great-looking and functional website. The design is visually attractive, and navigation is easy. The pages load fast even on a mobile connection. 

All the different sections of the website, like sports, live, and promotions, are easily accessible thanks to shortcuts in the header. The sports menu contains a “Popular” section with mainstream sports and boosted odds. The list of all sports is available below. Once you click on the sport, you can browse all the upcoming events or select a particular competition. There are filters for different groups of markets. One particularly great feature is the slider for odds, where you, for example, choose to have only markets with odds between 1.50 and 2.00 shown. 

The bet-slip menu is located on the right side and doesn’t cover the main content. If you scroll down enough, it will disappear, which is slightly inconvenient. The accounts menu opens in a drop-down manner and freezes the rest of the page. If you click on a particular option, it opens up in the main console. 

The one thing that could use improvement is the absence of the “Favorite” section. The predictive search across sports and teams makes this easier to ignore. 

PremierBet doesn’t have dark/light theme switching. There are also no social features or betting tools like an odds calculator. However, the stat databases that go back for decades across all sports are really useful. 

Mobile Betting

PremierBet offers mobile betting through a mobile web app and Android app. The app for iOS devices is currently not available. 

Mobile Web App

The mobile web app loads moderately fast. It looks like a condensed version of the desktop website, with a similar layout. Due to limitations of the mobile screen, you will need to do a lot of vertical scrolling, and there are additional drop-down menus in some sections. Also, there is a bottom navigation bar, which provides quick access to live markets, the Rewards Hub, bets, and the bet slip.

The betslip menu takes up the entire screen once clicked on. The good thing is that it doesn’t open up automatically when bets are added. Instead, there is a small bar that tells you how many selections you’ve made and their combined odds. 

The mobile web app can look clustered in some sections due to banners and highlights of featured games and boosted odds. However, the events display is user-friendly with a good font size. The search option is also present, but covers up the entire screen when opened. 

Android App

The PremierBet app for Android can be downloaded from the official page as an APK file. The app is light, with the installation file having a size of just under 4 MB. Once you install it, you see the reason why. 

The Android app is identical to the mobile web app. The layout and all the features are completely the same. You won’t be able to set up any extra notifications or add protection like biometrics. The only difference is easier access and slightly faster loading. 

Security & Data Protection

According to PremierBet’s privacy policy, published on the official website, personal information received from users is stored in a “password-protected database.” The database is located in the “secure network behind active state-of-the-art firewall software.” It also uses TLS 1.3 for encryption. 

The bookie doesn’t offer additional tools for account protection like two-factor authentication or biometrics. Also, there is no mention of keeping client funds segregated in safeguarded trust accounts. 

Betting Tools & Features

PremierBet has a variety of useful betting tools and features. The most notable are Odds Boosts, Cashback Boost, Cash Out, and Premier Bet Zone. 

PremierBet Odds Boosts

PremierBet provides daily boosted odds for high-profile competitions. The punters can choose between several selected bets with improved odds. This can include wagering on several teams to win their respective games, different players to score in their respective games, or teams to win their respective games with a specific set of scores. 

Cashback Boost

With a cashback boost, bettors can take advantage of improved odds and claim cashback if their bet loses. For example, they can bet on enhanced odds that several teams will win their respective games and receive cashback if one of the teams fails to do so. 

Cash Out

The cash out option allows users to take the payout on their bets before they are settled. The bookie offers full cash out on pre-match and live wagers. It is only available for major sports like football and basketball, but applies to high-profile and less popular competitions. 

Premier Bet Zone

With Premier Bet Zone, punters can place their bets online without having an online account. They can pay for the wager in cash and claim a payout at betting shops or through agents. There is also an option to use mobile money.

Placing bets with Premier Bet Zone comes with “Combi insurance,” where they can get up to 100x of their stake back if they have one losing selection on their accumulator.

There are no operating hours displayed on most versions of the bookmaker’s website; the contact methods differ. In some markets, like Tanzania, there is only a phone number available. In Malawi, support is conducted through WhatsApp and a free number. In Angola, punters can only submit a form with their issue and get a response via email. In Zimbabwe, there are several channels, including live chat, email, and phone. 

We contacted the bookie’s customer support in Zimbabwe through live chat, but had a disappointing experience. When we opened the chat, we were required to enter a name, email, and provide a reason for our inquiry. Then, we were placed in a queue to wait for our turn. Once connected with an agent, it required several follow-up messages and 15 minutes to get a scripted response. 

Once the chat ended, we had an option to save the transcript of the conversation and take a satisfaction survey. The survey asked us to share our satisfaction level, disclose whether our issue was resolved, and state whether we would recommend the platform to a friend or a colleague. There was also a box for suggestions. 

Betting Information Section

At PremierBet, punters can explore a detailed list of sports betting rules. The section is available in the Help tab and contains helpful information about settlement and cancellation of wagers. There are descriptions for markets in the majority of sports available on the platform.

In 2025, PremierBet announced it would sponsor the 2025 Africa Netball Cup through its Malawi platform. The bookie had a sponsorship deal with Malawi’s top football competition, the Super League, in 2024. Regionally, it served as an official betting partner of Serie A side AC Milan in Africa. The partnership was announced in the 2021-22 season, but doesn’t seem to be active anymore.

What Bettors Say About PremierBet 

There is not a lot of public opinion from regular bettors available on the internet about PremierBet. There are only three reviews of the bookie on TrustPilot, where it has a TrustScore of 2.8. The Nigerian version of the sportsbook, Nairabet, has a 3.7 TrustScore based on one review. 

The rest of its competitors are largely rated worse. Betway has a rating of 1.8, Betwinner is rated 1.3, and Supabets has a rating of 2.7. Only 22bet stands out with a TrustScore of 4.0.
