Dota 2 TI 14: Key Details

The Dota 2 International 2025 will be the 14th edition of the competition. Eight teams joined the party with direct invites, and eight more entered the fray via regional qualifiers. We’ll talk about our 2025 TI Dota 2 favorites soon, but first, let’s find out the key dates and venue details.

ℹ️ Tournament: Dota 2, The International 2025 (TI 14)
🧾 Format: S-tier LAN tournament with 16 teams and a few stages
🎮 Venue: Barclays Arena, Hamburg, Germany
🗓️ Dates: Thursday, September 4 to Sunday, September 14, 2025

Understanding the International 2025

The Dota 2 International 2025 is a $2.3 million tournament that will crown the new best of the best in world Dota 2 at the 16,000-capacity Barclays Arena in Hamburg. Valve announced a $1.6 million base prize for the tournament in May. More than $700k has been added to the prize pool since then from bundle sales.

Sixteen teams will compete in the TI14 main stage, and eight of them walked in without having to play any qualifiers. These teams will dominate our 2025 Dota 2 The International tips discussion since they are the most consistent sides in the game over the past year.

The remaining eight have to earn their places through qualifiers. Natus Vincere and Nigma Galaxy represent the Western Europe region. Southeast Asia also has two representatives: Team Nemesis and BOOM Esports. Other regions have one team each. They are: Aurora Gaming (Eastern Europe), Xtreme Gaming (China), Wildcard (North America), and HEROIC (South America).

As for the format, The International 2025 will hold a Swiss-system group stage named ‘The Road to the International’. The teams will play best-of-three matches, and the top three will directly qualify for the next stage of the tournament, while the bottom three pack their bags. For teams finishing 4-13, however, there is a lifeline.

A special elimination round gives teams between the direct qualification and drop zone a second chance to qualify for the playoffs. Five more teams will join the first three to complete the playoff field.

The playoffs are called ‘The International’. These matches will be held in double-elimination brackets. The grand final will be decided in a best-of-five.

Team Spirit @ 2.62 (13/8)

Team Spirit have been one of the most consistent units in Dota 2 in recent years and come to the International 2025 as the freshly-crowned Esports World Cup champions. So, it’s no surprise to see them have the shortest odds to win Dota 2 14th TI.

PARIVISION @ 5.00 (4/1)

PARIVISION is a relative newcomer in the world of Dota 2, but they did not take long to make their mark. They beat defending The International champions Team Liquid in the ESL One Bangkok 2024 Grand Final in December. So, it’s unlikely the Eastern European side will be overlooked in any TI 14 Dota 2 betting guide.

Team Liquid @ 6.50 (11/2)

Betting websites for Esports have assigned favorable Dota 2 The International 2025 odds for another successful Team Liquid title run in Hamburg. They have an experienced roster that is no stranger to making deep runs in S-tier tournaments, and they will fly to Germany as the reigning International champions.

Team Falcons @ 7.00 (6/1)

Team Falcons had the perfect warm-up for The International as they saw off Team Spirit to win the FISSURE Universe Episode 6. They have shown good form in the current meta, so the Falcons should be one of the popular picks for Dota 2 TI 14 predictions as well.

BetBoom Team @ 9.00 (8/1)

BetBoom Team has assembled some of the biggest names in the CIS region to build a roster that can truly challenge for silverware in major competitions. A little inconsistent, but worth keeping an eye on for the best 2025 Dota 2 The International tips.

Dota 2 2025 The International Winner Predictions

Since we have covered all the need-to-know information for the tournament, it’s time to reveal our The International 2025 Dota 2 betting tips. We will begin with a pick that many of you might have seen coming:

It might seem like a boring pick since this is one of the most common TI 14 betting predictions. But, the excellence Team Spirit have shown at the grandest stages of Dota 2 cannot be ignored. They are one of the two teams that have taken the coveted Aegis of Champions home twice, and their recent form has also been marvelous.

We don’t see a side that can match the perfect blend of stability and experience Spirit has right now. They swept the Esports World Cup 2025 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Team Falcons in the final. Team Spirit did fall to Team Falcons at FISSURE Universe: Episode 6, but they were without their experienced midlaner Denis “Larl” Sigitov.

Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov will be the key Team Spirit player to watch. No one brings more flair to Team Spirit than the Dagestani, a player famed for producing match-defining moments on demand. Collapse’s incredible Magnus performance was instrumental in Spirit’s The International win in 2021.

With Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov calling the shots as captain and drafter, and Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, delivering time and again in crunch-time moments, their foundation is rock solid. With “Larl” also back in the setup, Team Spirit looks like the team to beat in Germany.

Aurora and Xtreme Gaming are set to renew their rivalry in the Road to International stage. The Eastern European side has picked up some great results over the past year and a half, and now their roster looks settled enough to make an impact on Dota 2’s biggest stage. That said, we don’t consider them the favorites in our 2025 Dota 2 The International tips for this particular matchup. This might seem a bit surprising since Aurora has won their last three series against Xtreme Gaming, but recent form leads us to believe the Chinese side is about to arrest that slump.

Aurora has failed to get past Team Liquid and Team Falcons in recent games and shared the spoils with Virtus.pro. Xtreme, on the other hand, saw off BetBoom Team and Nigma Galaxy. Although their opposition may not seem as strong on paper, these wins should give Xtreme great momentum heading into this clash.

Wang “Ame” Chunyu is one of the best carry players in the world on his day. While “Ame” has not been at his best lately, he has the ability to tip the balance of this tie. Xtreme still has more wins against Aurora in the overall head-to-head records, and also beat them in January. We feel confident that Xtreme can get a winning start on Thursday at Aurora’s expense.

PARIVISION entered 2025 as one of the most well-drilled Dota 2 teams in the world. They have brought in highly rated youngster Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov on loan from Team Spirit. Satanic is arguably the most hyped Dota 2 newcomer in recent times, and he will look to make a statement in the upcoming International. Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko is the true leader in the team. The 27-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best midlaners the game has ever seen, even though he barely gets proper recognition.

The team showed enough consistency in the first four months of the year to earn a direct TI14 invite. Then, they went on to win the DreamLeague Season 26 and made a deep run in the Esports World Cup 2025. PARAVISION look nicely set for a title charge in Hamburg, and we feel they can make it as far as the Grand Final.

We recommend getting behind the heavy favorites, Team Spirit, to win the Dota 2 International. It’s not necessarily the riskiest punt, but the value is still there, and we feel confident recommending this bet to those looking to make a profit.
