Betting Regulation in Nigeria
Nigeria’s betting regulation changed significantly after the Supreme Court judgment of 22 November 2024. The court ruled that the National Lottery Act 2005 was unconstitutional because the National Assembly did not have the power to regulate lottery and games of chance across Nigeria’s states. The decision confirmed that these matters fall mainly under state legislative powers, while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) remains under federal authority. The judgment is summarised in the Supreme Court ruling coverage by Channels Television and further analysed in a legal review by PwC Nigeria’s Supreme Court verdict report.
In practical terms, Nigeria no longer has one single nationwide regulator covering gambling activities across all states. Licensing is now primarily handled at state level. The Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) has become one of the most important reference points for online betting because Lagos is one of Nigeria’s largest commercial markets and has an active gaming regulatory system. Abuja follows a separate regulatory path through the FCT system, a distinction highlighted in the IMGL analysis of legislative and regulatory powers over gaming in Nigeria.
Because regulation is now more state-focused, players should check whether a bookmaker has approval that applies to their location before depositing. A Lagos licence can be an important trust indicator, but it does not automatically answer every state-level licensing question. Checking the relevant state regulator remains the safest approach, especially for Nigerian betting companies targeting Lagos customers.
To reduce the complexity of multiple state licences, state regulators created the Federation of State Gaming Regulators of Nigeria (FSGRN). In May 2025, FSGRN members signed the Subnational Reciprocity Licensing Framework, introducing the Universal Reciprocity Certificate (URC) for participating states. The framework covers online sports betting, online casino, public online lottery, and promotional competitions. It is a state-coordination mechanism, not a new federal gambling licence. Details of the framework are described in Legal500’s Nigeria gaming regulatory guide.
The URC reduces licensing duplication for participating operators, but it does not replace state-level regulation. Coverage depends on FSGRN participation and each state’s regulatory position. The Legal500 analysis of Nigeria’s gaming framework notes that regulatory requirements can still differ between jurisdictions, meaning operator approval may depend on the player’s location.
Beyond licensing requirements, Nigerian online betting companies must also follow basic player-protection rules. The minimum legal age for betting is 18, and licensed operators are expected to apply responsible gaming controls and verify customer identity through KYC procedures. Depending on the operator and the verification stage, Nigerian bettors may be asked to provide documents such as a National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), national identity documents, driver’s licence, voter’s card, or passport. KYC checks are especially common before withdrawals because online sports betting websites must manage fraud prevention and financial compliance requirements.
Tax treatment is another important issue for Nigerian bettors. Lagos introduced a 5% withholding tax on net winnings from Lagos-licensed gaming platforms in February 2026. The deduction is made at payout and remitted to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service. Because the rule applies to Lagos-licensed operators, the bookmaker’s regulatory status becomes an important factor for players. The change was discussed in iGaming Business’ coverage of Lagos introducing a withholding tax on gaming winnings.
Players outside Lagos should check local regulatory and tax information instead of assuming the same rules apply everywhere.
Offshore betting remains a grey area. There is limited public information about enforcement actions against individual Nigerian players who use foreign online sportsbooks. The more practical concern is consumer protection. If an offshore bookmaker is not covered by a Nigerian state regulator and a withdrawal dispute occurs, players may have fewer local complaint and enforcement options.
The federal government has explored returning gambling regulation to a central framework, but President Bola Tinubu declined to assent to the Central Gaming Bill, which was intended to establish a new central gaming authority. As a result, the state-led approach created after the Supreme Court decision remains the current framework.
Nigerian bettors should focus on reliable betting sites with clear regulatory approval, complete KYC requirements accurately, and review payment, withdrawal, and tax rules before depositing. For Lagos-related checks, the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority is the main reference point, while bettors in other states should review their local regulator’s information.
Responsible Gambling in Nigeria
Responsible gambling requirements in Nigeria are mainly shaped by state regulators, so available tools can differ by regulator and operator. Lagos is the key reference point because the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) has introduced detailed responsible gaming requirements for legit betting sites. These rules include self-exclusion procedures, removing excluded players from gambling access, stopping targeted marketing to excluded players, and allowing exclusion periods from a minimum of 90 days up to lifetime exclusion, as described in the Lagos State Responsible Gaming Regulations.
For everyday control, bettors should use the responsible gambling tools available through their bookmaker account. Legit online betting sites may offer features such as deposit limits, spending controls, time-outs, session reminders, and self-exclusion. These tools are not identical across all Nigerian betting platforms, so players should check the available options before placing regular bets and choose controls that match their betting habits.
For a longer break from betting, players usually have two options. The first is operator-level self-exclusion, which is normally managed through account settings or customer support. This blocks access to that specific bookmaker for the selected period. Many operators treat self-exclusion as a fixed restriction and do not allow early reopening.
In Lagos, players also have access to SafePlay, the regulator-backed self-exclusion platform created by the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority. SafePlay allows users to register with their National Identification Number (NIN) and exclude themselves from participating LSLGA-licensed gambling operators, including online betting, retail betting, and casino platforms. Available exclusion periods include 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, or permanent exclusion.
The system is designed to cover participating LSLGA-regulated operators, but it does not automatically block access to offshore gambling websites or operators outside the Lagos regulatory system. Players using offshore bookmakers may need to manage self-exclusion separately with each operator and consider additional blocking tools if required.
Support options for gambling harm are available, although Nigeria does not currently have the same centralised national support structure seen in some mature regulated markets. One Nigeria-focused organisation providing gambling-harm support is Gamble Alert, which describes its work as including prevention, counselling, treatment support, rehabilitation, and awareness programmes. Players experiencing gambling-related problems can also seek general mental health and wellbeing support, especially when betting is linked to stress, financial pressure, anxiety, or difficulties affecting daily life.
Responsible gambling starts with setting limits before problems appear. Players should avoid chasing losses and consider self-exclusion when betting begins to affect finances, relationships, work, sleep, or personal wellbeing. In Lagos, SafePlay provides broader coverage than individual account closures because it can apply across participating LSLGA-licensed operators. Offshore accounts require separate self-exclusion management with each operator.

Licensed in Lagos and Imo states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
SportyBet has operated in Nigeria since 2013. Its Lagos and Imo licences list Marawin Limited, while the FCT register lists Sporty Internet Limited. The sportsbook focuses on football, mobile betting and local payment options.
An Focus Gaming News describes a court dismissing SportyBet’s case against customers after the operator failed to substantiate its allegations. The judgment did not settle the customers’ separate claims for unpaid winnings.
Payments are built around common Nigerian methods. SportyBet supports OPay, PalmPay, bank transfer, and bank USSD codes, which covers the options many local bettors already use. For my own test, I used OPay for both deposit and withdrawal. The deposit went through smoothly, and the withdrawal was processed without a fee. The minimum stake is NGN 10 per ticket, the maximum stake is NGN 40,000,000, and the maximum single-bet payout is NGN 200,000,000. The minimum deposit shown during my check was NGN 100.
SportyBet Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site has readable football listings, large odds buttons, filters for 1X2 and goals markets, and a floating betslip with a live selection count. It stays easy to navigate without hiding the main markets.
Pre-match pricing is one of SportyBet’s strengths. Across ten Premier League fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 4.10%. That is strong among the bookmakers checked here, although 1xBet and MSport posted tighter 1X2 figures in their own samples. Goals pricing was solid in the checked fixtures. Over/Under averaged 5.93%, while BTTS averaged 5.35%. The 1X2 line was the sharper of the three.
Market depth is strong for a Nigeria-facing bookmaker. SportyBet covers full Over/Under ladders from 0.5 to 5.5+ goals, Asian and European handicaps, first-half and second-half markets, corner totals with team breakdowns, and goal-timing options.
The feature set is also useful. Early Payout is available in three forms: 1UP, 2UP, and Never Down. Bore Draw protection is available on eligible markets, Cash Out has its own tab, and Bet Builder lets players combine up to eight selections from one match.
Across six in-play matches, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 10.64%. Some smaller regional games reached 13.26% and 13.48%, which were particularly costly. Live Over/Under averaged 8.84%, while live BTTS averaged 8.52%. These live figures come from a different set of fixtures and should be read as a snapshot, not a direct match-by-match comparison with the Premier League sample.
Live market depth also varies. Some smaller fixtures had only eight or nine markets, which is thin. The positive is that every live match page I checked had a proper Match Tracker with animated pitch views and a separate Statistics tab.
SportyBet Live Mobile Betting
Early Payout and Cash Out carry over into live betting, which adds control. I did not find live streaming on any tested match, and SportyBet’s own terms make Bet Builder a pre-match feature only.
Outrights are weaker than the pre-match football product. SportyBet’s EPL futures include Premier League Winner, Top Goalscorer, Most Assists, Golden Glove, Season Handicap Winner, and eight individual “To Be Relegated” markets.
That is enough for basic season betting, but there are surprising gaps. I did not find Top 4, Top 6, or European qualification markets, which are among the most popular EPL futures. Bettors who focus on season-long football markets may find better depth elsewhere.
Sports offers included Live Odds Boost, Flexi, and 1Cut. Flexi can pay when the required number of accumulator legs win; 1Cut removes one losing selection from an eligible slip. The 2UP offer pays early when the chosen team takes a two-goal lead.
LaLiga Bet & Get advertised daily free bet gifts up to NGN 50,000, based on qualifying stakes. Sporty Hero Tournament advertised up to NGN 14,000,000 in weekly prizes, with a NGN 100 minimum bet and a required cash-out multiplier of at least 1.2x.
SportyBet is one of the best Nigerian betting sites for mobile-first football bettors who use pre-match markets and accumulator tools. The thin selection of EPL table-position outrights and occasional expensive regional live prices are its main limitations.

Licensed in Oyo and Imo states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Bet9ja launched in 2013 and is one of Nigeria’s top-rated betting sites. KC Gaming Networks Limited is listed as its operator in Oyo and Imo; the FCT register lists KC Gaming Ltd.
Payments are one of Bet9ja’s strongest local features. The cashier supports PalmPay, OPay, Telegram Pay, Pocket App, major bank transfers, USSD, Visa, Mastercard, and USDT. That mix is very Nigeria-specific. It covers mobile wallets, bank users, feature-phone users, card bettors, and players who prefer crypto. The minimum deposit is NGN 100 on most methods, and the minimum bet is NGN 10, so the site works well for micro-stakes players. I used OPay for deposit. The deposit flow was smooth and easy to complete. Withdrawals start from NGN 1,000, with a ceiling of NGN 100,000,000. Processing can take up to 24 banking hours, depending on the method and account status.
Bet9ja Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site puts Sports, Live, Virtuals, and Zoom within reach. Premier League fixtures show market counts before opening a match; the betslip supports singles, multiples, and system bets, with quick stakes and a potential payout.
Pre-match pricing is strong. Across ten Premier League fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 4.25%. Some top fixtures were even tighter. Liverpool vs Fulham came in at 4.10%, Tottenham vs Everton at 3.98%, and Sunderland vs Arsenal at 4.15%. For Nigeria, that is a sharp match result line. Goals pricing was also solid. Over/Under averaged 4.78% across the same main fixtures, while BTTS averaged 5.11%. The 1X2 line was the sharpest of the three checked markets.
Market depth is solid. Bet9ja showed around 208 to 235 markets per Premier League match on mobile. Goals, handicaps, HT/FT, Correct Score, Asian lines, and corner markets were all covered.
The odds table includes separately priced 1UP and 2UP markets on every checked fixture. Players can choose these early-settlement options instead of assuming they apply to the standard 1X2 price. The Bet Builder is less consistent. It appeared on Liverpool vs Fulham and Manchester United vs Manchester City, but I did not find it on Sunderland vs Arsenal.
Live betting is the weakest part of the product. No EPL match was live during my check, so I measured available in-play football from smaller leagues in Italy, Cambodia, and India.
Bet9ja Live Mobile Betting
Across four live matches, the average 1X2 margin was 11.50%. That was costly within the small in-play sample; these were different fixtures from the Premier League games used for pre-match pricing.
The live betting section mirrors the pre-match layout, with Popular Markets, Halves, and All available. Markets include 1X2, Double Chance, Next Goal, Rest of Match, Over/Under, and Correct Score. Bet9ja also includes a live match tracker with a pitch view, timeline, score, match clock, and basic event markers such as goals, cards, and substitutions. I did not confirm live streaming or a deeper stats panel during this check.
Outrights are better. Bet9ja’s EPL futures cover League Winner, Top 2, Top 4, Top 5, Top 6, Relegation, To Finish Bottom, Top Goalscorer, Most Assists, and Golden Glove. The path is not obvious because players need to go through Outrights, Antepost Soccer, and then England. Once found, the section is useful, and coverage below the EPL is surprisingly broad, reaching down to leagues such as the National League North/South and Isthmian League.
Promotions are competitive for Nigeria. The main football offer is No Lose EPL Weekends. Players place their first qualifying Premier League bet of the week between Friday and Sunday, with a minimum stake of NGN 500 and minimum total odds of 3.00. If the bet loses, the stake is returned as a Sports Bonus up to NGN 100,000. That is a useful weekly safety net for football bettors. The Sports Bonus carries a 10x wagering requirement and has 30 days to be cleared, so it is not the same as cash.
Other listed offers included UCL express delivery, weekly tennis cashback up to NGN 100,000, accumulator insurance, Odds Freeze, and BOOMed prizes advertised up to NGN 1 billion.
Bet9ja is one of the best sports betting websites for low-stakes bettors who want Nigerian payment choice, strong EPL prices, and broad outrights. Its Bet Builder was inconsistent across the fixtures checked.

1xBet’s Nigerian operation is listed under Beauforbet Nigeria Limited by both state regulators. The international brand offers an extensive football sportsbook in Nigeria. Its local profile grew after a 2018 partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation and the Nigerian Premier League.
Payments are one of 1xBet’s clearest strengths in Nigeria. The cashier offers a very wide range of local options, with 54 deposit methods and 82 withdrawal methods available during my check. Deposit options include Quickteller, OPay Wallet, PalmPay, and card payments through Paystack. Most methods have a low NGN 100 minimum deposit and process instantly. I used OPay Wallet for both deposit and withdrawal. The deposit went through smoothly, and the withdrawal flow was easy to complete. Withdrawals cover many Nigerian banks, including GTBank, Zenith, Kuda, Providus, and others. The minimum withdrawal I found was around NGN 550, with many methods showing an estimated processing time of about 15 minutes.
1xBet Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site has fixed navigation and search that returned fixtures in under two seconds during my check. It also remembered recent searches within the same session.
Match tabs covered Regular Time, Halves, Corners, and Players’ Stats, with a market search box. The mobile betslip displayed potential payout in naira and quick-add stake buttons. A promotional bubble briefly overlapped the bottom navigation on one screen.
Pre-match 1X2 pricing is excellent. Across ten Premier League Round 4 fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 1.53%, with individual matches ranging from 1.51% to 1.56%. That was the sharpest 1X2 result in this Nigeria review.
Market depth is also wide. The average checked match displayed more than 1,180 selections (individual betting outcomes), with strong coverage for goals, handicaps, half markets, and standard match betting. A 2UP option also appears beside every checked fixture; its price and settlement conditions should be assessed separately from standard 1X2.
The weakness is that not every market is priced as sharply as 1X2. Over/Under averaged 8.70% across the top three matches, while BTTS averaged 7.51%. Those numbers are expensive for totals and goals bettors.
Bet Builder is available from the match-page menu, and 1xBet carries a very large number of markets. The weaker point is depth in some specialist areas. I found only a small Players section, and cards markets were not confirmed during my check.
Live betting has real depth. During my check, the Live Football tab showed 42 competitions in-play, including youth, reserve, lower-tier, and local Nigerian football. That gives 1xBet one of the widest live football menus in this review.
1xBet Live Mobile Betting
A With Live Streams filter is available, which helps players find events they can watch inside the site. Live match pages also include Standings, Visual Stats, Timeline, and Lineups panels, giving more context than a basic score-only interface.
In my live sample, 1X2 margins averaged 6.18%, while Over/Under averaged 5.65%. Those are strong figures for the in-play fixtures checked, though the sample is not matched to the pre-match Premier League games. Live market depth was strong, ranging from 102 markets on a local youth game to 355 markets on a UEFA Youth League fixture.
Outrights are large but uneven. 1xBet listed 343 Premier League outright markets, which sounds huge, but most of the depth is built around finishing-position bets. The strongest areas are Top 2, Top 3, Top 4, Top 5, Top 6, Top 7, Top 8, Top 10, Last Place, and relegation-zone markets. If you want to bet on where a club finishes, 1xBet offers strong granularity.
The welcome bonus looks big but has demanding terms. New customers can get a first deposit match of up to 300%, capped at NGN 600,000, with a minimum deposit of NGN 1,700.
The headline figure needs careful reading. Only half of the bonus goes to the sports betting balance, while the other half goes to 1xGames. The sports portion must be cleared through accumulator bets with at least three selections, including three legs at odds of 1.40 or higher. The rollover depends on the deposit tier, with lower tiers requiring 5x wagering and higher tiers requiring 10x, all within 30 days. That makes the offer better suited to regular accumulator bettors than beginners who prefer singles.
I found around 46 promotions, including Winning Five cashback on major European leagues, The Champions for Champions League bets, and Cashout offers. The number of promotions alone does not establish their value.
1xBet is one of the best online bookmakers for bettors seeking very sharp EPL 1X2 odds and wide football coverage. Its expensive goals prices and welcome bonus split across sports and games balances deserve closer attention.

BetKing launched in Nigeria in 2018 and is operated by SV Gaming Limited. It has a large online and retail presence. Co-founded by Adekunle Adeniji, the brand also has a partnership with Nigerian football legend Jay-Jay Okocha.
Payments are one of BetKing’s clearest strengths. The cashier supports OPay, PalmPay, Paga, online banking with Nigerian banks, Visa, Mastercard, GTBank and Zenith USSD, ATM deposits, and cash deposits through physical betting shops. For my own test, I used OPay for deposit and withdrawal. The deposit was smooth, and the withdrawal flow worked without any fee. The minimum withdrawal is NGN 100; the maximum withdrawal is NGN 10,000,000 per transaction. The minimum stake is NGN 10, which makes BetKing accessible for micro-stakes bettors. Most bank withdrawals can process within a few hours, but first-time or larger payouts may take longer.
BetKing Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site has a clear betslip, quick-add stakes, potential winnings, and collapsible match markets. Android and iOS apps are also available.
Pre-match pricing is strong. Across ten Premier League Matchweek 4 fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 4.17%. Individual match margins ranged from 3.89% on Coventry vs Brighton to 4.46% on Tottenham vs Everton. That is competitive pricing for both casual and regular football bettors. Goals pricing was acceptable in the three biggest fixtures: Over/Under averaged 6.03%, while BTTS averaged 5.60%. The match result line was sharper.
BetKing’s UP markets are useful: 1UP, 2UP, and Half-Time UP appear as standalone priced markets on every fixture, so players get an early-payout style option without activating a separate promo.
Bet Builder is available, with both a custom build tool and ready-made “Made For You” selections filtered by odds range. Statistics panels also add useful context, including form, recent results, and head-to-head history.
No Premier League match was live during my test, so I checked four lower-division and youth fixtures. The average live 1X2 margin was 10.26%; Over/Under averaged 8.75% and BTTS 8.98%. These are a snapshot of those in-play fixtures and do not directly measure the same matches used for the pre-match figures.
The strongest live feature is the match tracker. Every game I opened had an animated pitch graphic and a momentum line chart, even on obscure fixtures. That helps players follow the action without relying only on the score.
BetKing Live Mobile Betting
The weaker side is live betting depth. 1UP and 2UP did not carry over into live betting, and I did not confirm live Bet Builder or live streaming. For bettors who follow games mainly through the app, the lack of video is a real limitation.
BetKing covers the main Premier League futures, including League Winner, Top 2, Top 4, Top 5, Top 6, and Relegation. The section is useful for title and table-finish bets, but it does not go much deeper. I did not find Top Goalscorer, player awards, team-stat markets, or specials, so bettors who want Golden Boot or player futures will need another bookmaker.
Joli Just Come included NGN 100 in free bets and 10 Aviator flights after registration. New users could unlock up to NGN 1,000,000 in free bets through activity; another 100 Aviator flights required NGN 5,000 staked on the game within seven days. Daily Awoof offered login-based free-bet credits.
The standout ongoing sports promo is the 300% Accumulator Bonus. A five-leg accumulator gets a 5% top-up on winnings, scaling up to 300% for a 40-leg ticket. The boost is added to a winning payout, so it is easier to understand than a separate rollover bonus.
Royal Cash Back is aimed at high-volume bettors. It requires at least NGN 1,500,000 in weekly stakes and NGN 750,000 in weekly deposits, with 10% of net losses returned up to NGN 200,000 per week. That will not matter to most casual players.
BetKing is one of the best sports betting sites in Nigeria for bettors seeking strong 1X2 prices, local deposits, and mobile accumulator tools. EPL player futures and live UP markets were missing in the checked product.

MSport launched in Nigeria in 2020. The FCT sports betting register lists Mobile Sports Limited as its operator. The brand has built a local presence through Nigerian football, including sponsorship links with the Nigerian Professional Football League and visibility on NPFL team jerseys.
Payments are built for Nigerian users. MSport supports popular fintech and bank methods, including OPay, PalmPay, Kuda, GTBank, Zenith, UBA, FirstBank, and Sterling. I used OPay for both deposit and withdrawal. The deposit was smooth, and the withdrawal flow was quick and easy to complete. Mobile wallet and bank withdrawals are often fast, with some payouts completed within minutes.
MSport Mobile Site
The mobile site uses collapsible market groups, quick football shortcuts, and a clear betslip with an odds-change toggle and direct 1UP/2UP switching. The Android app is very light and optimised for 3G and lower-end phones.
Pre-match pricing is excellent. Across ten Premier League fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 1.82%, which was one of the sharpest results in this Nigeria review. Goals pricing was also solid. Over/Under averaged 4.09% across three featured matches, while BTTS averaged 5.46%. That makes MSport especially strong for match result and basic goals betting.
The standout feature is the 2UP structure. It is not hidden inside a promo page. Instead, MSport prices 1X2-2UP as a standalone market on every fixture, which makes the early-payout option easy to find and use. Bet Builder and a Statistics tab are also available on every match, not just headline games. That gives MSport more product depth than a basic odds-only sportsbook.
Across four in-play matches, I calculated an average live 1X2 margin of 9.64%. Live Over/Under averaged 9.12%, while live BTTS reached 12.20%. The BTTS figure was particularly costly in this small live sample; the checked games differed from the pre-match Premier League fixtures.
The live match centre is still useful. It includes real-time stats for shots, corners, cards, possession, fouls, substitutions, and injuries, plus commentary and a Bet Assist panel. That gives bettors helpful context when following a match without TV.
MSport Live Mobile Betting
The frustrating part is that MSport tracks corners and cards in the stats feed but does not offer those markets live. I also did not find live streaming during my check, so players rely on the tracker and stats rather than video.
Outrights are a clear gap. I could not find any season-long Premier League markets through standard navigation.
The welcome offer advertised up to NGN 500,000 in sports and games free bonuses. Sports-facing offers included an accumulator bonus, Best Odds Ever, Live Commentary Goal Vouchers, and 1UP/2UP; other promotions on the page focused on games.
The headline welcome figure mixes sports and games value. Bettors should check the applicable wagering rules, expiry, and minimum odds for each offer.
MSport is one of the best bookies in Nigeria for bettors who prioritise pre-match football odds and a light mobile interface. The lack of visible EPL outrights and costly live BTTS sample are its clearest limitations.

Betway is listed under Digi Bay Limited in the Imo State regulator’s register. Its Nigerian sportsbook offers a clean mobile interface, football features and local payment options.
Payments cover the main methods Nigerian bettors expect. Betway supports bank transfers, Visa, Mastercard, Quickteller, Paystack, OPay, PalmPay, Paga, and direct transfers through local banks such as GTBank and Zenith. I used OPay for both deposit and withdrawal. The deposit went through smoothly, and the withdrawal was completed without any issue. Deposits are usually instant, while most withdrawals can take up to 24 hours.
Betway Mobile Site
The mobile site loaded quickly and made EPL fixtures easy to find. Android, iOS, and Huawei apps were also available.
Match pages grouped goals, player specials, handicaps, combos, and Build A Bet into collapsible sections. The betslip showed stake and potential return without reloading the page.
Pre-match pricing is Betway’s main weakness. Across ten Premier League fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 9.11%, which is high compared with sharper Nigerian alternatives. Goals pricing was also expensive. Over/Under averaged 9.07% across three top matches, while BTTS averaged 9.25%. For regular bettors, that difference matters because the cost is built into every price.
Betway is stronger on feature consistency. The 1UP, 2UP, and 3UP options were available on every checked match, and the Build A Bet tab was also present across the sample. Bettors should check the price and settlement terms of the chosen UP option against a standard 1X2 bet.
Live betting is also expensive. Across three live matches, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 11.76%. Live Over/Under averaged 13.49%, while live BTTS averaged 10.54%.
Betway Live Mobile Betting
The live product covers the basics, including 1X2, Double Chance, Draw No Bet, totals, BTTS, handicaps, and combo markets. I also liked the Which Team Will Win the Rest of the Match market, which is useful when joining a game after kick-off.
Betway’s live Win Boost carousel is another practical feature. It shows ready-made combo bets with boosted odds, which helps players who want quick in-play options.
Betway offers a match tracker with timeline, statistics, cards, and corner data, but some live events may have no active markets. I also did not confirm live streaming, so players get useful match context, but not always the full in-play betting experience.
Premier League outrights cover some useful basics. Betway offers a 20-team League Winner market, per-team Relegation markets, To Finish Bottom, and a Top Goalscorer list with around 70 players.
Betway’s welcome offer gives new players up to NGN 250,000 as a free bet, plus 10 free spins on Hot Hot Betway and 10 free Aviator flights. It is not a pure sportsbook bonus, but the sports part is still useful for new bettors.
Other sports offers included Soccer Jackpot, Free Bet Club, and the EPL Leaderboard. Soccer Jackpot offered a share of NGN 500,000 for eligible NGN 100+ Saturday stakes. Free Bet Club listed two weekly free bets for qualifying members.
The 1UP/2UP/3UP offer paid early if the chosen team reached the applicable lead. Eligibility and settlement depended on the option selected.
Betway is among the top betting sites in Nigeria for bettors who value an uncluttered mobile product and consistent Build A Bet access. Its measured pre-match and live prices were among the costlier results here.

Betano entered Nigeria in March 2023. The Lagos register lists Kaizen Gaming Limited for the brand, while the Imo register lists Crystal Gaming Limited. Betano offers a polished mobile sportsbook with Bet Builder and live streaming. Kaizen Gaming’s UEFA Europa League and Conference League sponsorship runs through the 2026/27 season.
Payments are solid on deposits but limited on withdrawals. Betano supports OPay, PalmPay, Monnify, credit and debit cards, Paystack, and Flutterwave. The NGN 50 minimum card deposit makes it easy to test the site with a small amount. I used a card for deposit and bank transfer for withdrawal. The deposit went through smoothly, and the withdrawal landed in under an hour. The main drawback is that withdrawals are bank-transfer only. In a market where many players rely on OPay and PalmPay for everyday payments, the lack of mobile-wallet withdrawals is a real limitation.
Betano Mobile Site
Betano had Android and iOS apps in the official stores and a dedicated mobile site. The match navigation was clear, although the app could be demanding for older or low-storage phones.
Pre-match pricing is solid but not sharp. Across nine Premier League fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 5.04%. Individual margins stayed between 4.73% and 5.30%, which suggests consistent pricing across the sample.
I found roughly 45 to 55 markets per Premier League match across Popular, Goals, Specials, and Handicap tabs. Core markets such as 1X2, Double Chance, totals, handicaps, Correct Score, and BTTS were easy to find.
Bet Builder is available and lets players combine options such as total goals, corners, handicaps, and goalscorer picks in one match. That gives Betano a useful same-game betting tool.
Betano’s live interface is one of its better areas. It is busy but responsive and easy to navigate, with real-time odds movement and a clean layout.
Betano Live Mobile Betting
In my live sample, the average 1X2 margin was 10.64%, while Over/Under averaged 9.22% and BTTS 9.73%. These in-play prices were not especially sharp within the checked fixtures. The streaming and interface remain useful strengths.
Betano also has an outrights section. I found the main Outright Winner market, individual Outright Winner: No markets for selected clubs, and a League Winning Margin market. However, the section still looked limited compared with deeper websites for sports betting. I did not find Top 4, Top 6, Relegation, Top Goalscorer, or player outright markets during my check.
The welcome bonus gives new players a 50% first deposit bonus up to NGN 200,000, with a low NGN 100 minimum qualifying deposit. The terms are demanding. The deposit and bonus must be wagered 10x on sports and virtual sports, and sports bets only count at odds above 3.00. That is strict for casual bettors, especially those who prefer short-priced favourites.
Other football offers included Accumulator Boosts, Accumulator Insurance, 2 Goals Ahead, Bore Draw Refund, and Super Enhanced Odds.
Betano is one of the best online betting sites for players who want a polished mobile interface, streaming, and Bet Builder. Bank-transfer-only withdrawals, limited EPL outrights, and strict welcome terms narrow its appeal.

Licensed in Lagos State
22bet is listed under Arcadia Hospitality Limited in the Lagos State regulator’s register. Its Nigerian sportsbook offers a broad football menu on the wider platform family used by 1xBet.
Payments are strong. Nigerian players can deposit and withdraw through bank cards via Paystack, USSD, local bank transfers through Flutterwave, OPay, PalmPay, QuickTeller vouchers, and major cryptocurrencies such as Tether and Bitcoin. The minimum deposit is NGN 250, and deposits do not carry a bookmaker fee. The minimum withdrawal is NGN 550. I used OPay for deposit. The deposit went through smoothly, and the payment flow was easy to complete. Local bank transfers can take up to two hours, OPay can process in under 30 minutes, and crypto withdrawals usually depend on network confirmation.
22bet Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site had clear Sports and Live navigation and a dismissible app banner.
EPL fixtures offered time filters and favourite markers. Match pages grouped markets under labelled tabs. A separately priced 1X2 2UP option appeared directly below standard 1X2.
Pre-match pricing is solid but not sharp. Across ten Premier League Round 4 fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 5.39%. That is acceptable for casual bettors, but it trails the sharpest options in this review.
Across the top three fixtures I checked, Over/Under averaged 6.40%, while BTTS averaged 7.53%. Both were costlier than the checked 1X2 line. Both Teams To Score, Double Chance, and long Over/Under ladders from 0.5 to 5.5+ were easy to find.
Live betting is functional and reasonably broad. I found in-play football across UEFA Youth League, England’s Central League Cup, Nigeria’s Nationwide League One Division 2 U19, and other competitions.
22bet Live Mobile Betting
Live markets include 1X2, Double Chance, totals, handicaps, and correct-score-style options. The useful part is that 2UP carries into live betting, which gives 22bet a stronger early payout angle than many competitors.
Individual live match pages include a score and clock display, plus a Statistics tab. I did not confirm Cash Out and live streaming on the matches I checked. The live product is useful, but not premium.
Premier League outrights cover the title Winner market and some player-award or regional specials. The section is not complete, though. I did not find Top 4, Top 6, European qualification, or a combined relegation market. For title betting, 22bet works. For season-long table-position betting, it is limited.
The welcome bonus is a 100% first-deposit match up to NGN 207,500. The wagering requirement is 5x on accumulator bets with at least three selections, each priced at 1.40 or higher. The rollover itself is more manageable than many Nigerian welcome offers, but the seven-day deadline adds pressure. It is better suited to regular accumulator bettors than players who bet only once or twice a week.
Existing-player offers included a 50% Wednesday reload, a 100% Friday reload up to NGN 164,952, and accumulator insurance for eligible tickets of seven or more legs with one losing selection.
22bet is one of the top bookmakers in Nigeria for bettors seeking broad football coverage, local payments, and a separate 2UP market before and during matches. Its EPL table-position outrights and specialist props were limited.

Licensed in Lagos State
BetWinner has been active in Nigeria since 2018. The Lagos State regulator lists Advanced Hospitality Limited as the company behind the brand. Its sportsbook offers broad football coverage, local payment options and frequent promotions.
BetWinner supports OPay, PalmPay, Monnify, Providus Bank, bank transfers, Visa, Mastercard, Verve, and USSD for both deposits and withdrawals. I used OPay for deposit and withdrawal. The deposit went through smoothly, and the withdrawal flow was easy to complete.
Withdrawals carry no BetWinner fee and start from NGN 550. OPay and PalmPay withdrawals can process within 15 minutes to three hours, while bank transfers can range from near-instant to 72 hours. KYC must be completed before the first withdrawal, so players should verify early to avoid delays.
BetWinner Mobile Site
The dedicated mobile site had a clear football menu and expandable leagues, though it was not always quick to load. Android and iOS apps were available.
Pre-match pricing is solid but not sharp. Across ten Premier League Round 4 fixtures, I calculated an average 1X2 margin of 5.40%. That keeps BetWinner in the acceptable range, but outside the sharpest group. Goals markets were more expensive. Over/Under averaged 6.40% across three headline matches, while BTTS averaged 7.53%. Bettors who focus on goals combinations should factor that into their value checks.
The strongest pre-match point is the number of displayed betting options. Some Premier League fixtures, such as Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest, showed more than 1,170 entries in the interface. Much of the depth comes from result and goals combinations, Asian totals, quarter-goal lines, and half-by-half variants.
The 2UP early-payout market is available on every checked fixture, which is a useful and consistent feature. For match results and goals, BetWinner has plenty of options. For cards, goalscorers, assists, shots, or tackles, the line is much thinner than the displayed number of options suggests.
Live betting is active and broad. During my check, BetWinner showed 51 live football matches, including youth, reserve, and lower-league fixtures. Multi-live is also available, which helps players follow several matches at once.
BetWinner Live Mobile Betting
A live-stream filter at the top of the live football list shows only matches with a broadcast available. This makes it easy to find games you can watch while betting.
In my live sample, 1X2 margins ranged from 5.37% to 8.46%, averaging around 6.92%. Live Over/Under averaged around 5.30%. Those figures were competitive within the in-play matches checked. Live market depth included Over/Under and BTTS lines, although some markets were locked during active play. That is normal in live betting, especially around dangerous attacks, goals, cards, or VAR moments.
Outrights are a clear weakness. I could not find an English Premier League outrights section through the league page, the England sidebar, or site search.
The welcome offer is competitive but needs careful reading. New users can choose either a sports bonus of 200% up to NGN 130,000 with a minimum NGN 4,000 deposit, or a casino package of up to NGN 665,000 plus 150 free spins. The sports bonus has a 5x rollover on accumulator bets with at least three selections, each priced at 1.40 or higher. The 30-day clearing window is reasonable for active accumulator bettors, but singles bettors will not find it easy. Withdrawals are not allowed until the rollover is completed, so players should avoid treating the bonus as free cash. It can be useful, but only if you already bet accumulators regularly.
Other offers included a Thursday 100% deposit bonus, Nil-Nil Draw refund, Esports Marathon, and a loyalty-points store.
BetWinner is among the best online sports betting sites for bettors who want broad goals markets, local wallets, and a busy live football menu. Its lack of visible EPL outrights and accumulator-only bonus terms are the main drawbacks.

Licensed in Lagos State
LiveScoreBet launched in Nigeria in 2020 and is operated by Visatech Limited, as listed by the Lagos State regulator. Its link to the LiveScore results platform gives the betting brand a familiar name for football followers.
Payments cover the main Nigerian card and transfer options. Visa, Mastercard, and Verve are confirmed on the site, while other available options include bank transfer, USSD, OPay, Flutterwave, ATM QuickTeller, Interswitch WebPay, and bank branch deposits. For my own test, I used a bank card for deposit. The deposit went through smoothly, and the NGN 100 minimum qualifying deposit makes LiveScoreBet easy to test with a small amount.
LiveScoreBet Mobile Site
The mobile site had readable match listings, search that returned relevant Arsenal fixtures within seconds, and a betslip showing quick stakes and potential return.
Pre-match pricing is the main concern. Across ten Premier League fixtures, the 1X2 margins varied heavily. The tightest margin I found was 8.34% on Liverpool vs Fulham, while the widest was 14.42% on Bournemouth vs Brentford. The average across the ten-match sample was above 10%, which is expensive compared with sharper Nigerian alternatives. For regular bettors, that pricing gap matters over time.
Goals markets were better but still not elite. Over/Under 2.5 averaged 7.52% across the top three matches, while BTTS averaged 9.69%. That puts LiveScoreBet behind the sharper sportsbooks in this review for value.
Feature coverage is stronger than pricing. 2UP Early Payout appeared on every checked fixture, not only headline matches. Sub Payout is also available, which protects eligible bets if a key player is substituted. That is a useful feature and a real differentiator in Nigeria.
Bet Builder and Easy Pick give players simple ways to combine selections from the same match. This helps beginners who want more than a straight single bet but do not want to build a full accumulator from scratch.
Live betting covers a good range of events. During my check, I found in-play markets on UEFA Youth League U19, Australian regional football, and Champions League games. That gives bettors options beyond the biggest competitions.
LiveScoreBet Live Mobile Betting
Every live match I opened had the basics: live 1X2, Double Chance, and total goals Over/Under. Cash Out is also confirmed as a live-only feature, so it becomes available once an eligible bet is placed.
Live pricing is expensive. Across six live 1X2 markets, I calculated an average margin of 12.07%. Live Over/Under averaged 11.05%. Those numbers are heavy for regular in-play betting.
Live depth is also uneven. BTTS appeared on only one of the three matches I checked, Bet Builder was not available live, and one match had all markets suspended after a goal. I also did not find live streaming or a live stats panel in the in-play section.
Outrights are better than expected. LiveScoreBet’s Premier League futures include Winner, Top 4, Top 5, Top 6, a full 20-team Relegation market, Winner Without Arsenal and Man City, Top London Club, Top North West Club, Top Goalscorer, and Top Assists.
The welcome offer is a 100% first deposit match up to NGN 100,000, plus up to 100 free spins on Triple Phoenix Power Combo. The minimum qualifying deposit is NGN 100. The offer is presented more clearly than many rivals. The 6x rollover, 3.00 minimum odds, and NGN 10,000 cap per qualifying bet were shown with the offer, not hidden deep in separate terms. The key restriction is the odds requirement. Bets need odds of 3.00 or higher to count, so players cannot clear the bonus by backing short-priced favourites. Free spin winnings have zero wagering, which is a beginner-friendly detail.
LiveScoreBet also runs a Weekly Millionaire Jackpot. Every NGN 1,000 staked gives one entry into a NGN 1,000,000 weekly draw, which works as a simple low-cost side promo.
LiveScoreBet is one of the top online betting sites in Nigeria for bettors who value simple mobile navigation, Sub Payout, and broad EPL futures. Its measured pre-match and live prices were expensive.
Conclusion
- Bet on match winners? Start by comparing 1xBet and MSport. They had the lowest 1X2 margins in the matches I checked, though their prices on other markets were different.
- Want a site for everyday football betting? SportyBet, Bet9ja and BetKing combined competitive match-result odds with plenty of pre-match markets and mobile tools.
- Prefer to bet while watching a game? 1xBet and BetWinner had strong live prices in my samples. Always check the current odds: live prices change quickly, and smaller matches may offer fewer markets.
- Follow the Premier League title and relegation races? Bet9ja and LiveScoreBet offered a wide choice of season bets. 1xBet was particularly good for betting on where a club will finish.
- Pick tools you will use. Betano offers live streaming and Bet Builder, while SportyBet’s Flexi and 1Cut can help with eligible accumulators. Check the rules before adding a bet.
- Look at withdrawals before making a deposit. BetKing allowed withdrawals from NGN 100. Betano accepted several deposit methods, but withdrawals were limited to bank transfer during my check.
- Read the small print on bonuses. A large offer may require accumulator bets, high minimum odds or several rounds of wagering before you can withdraw.
- Check the licence for your location. Betting approval in Nigeria depends on the state or the FCT, so confirm that the bookmaker can operate where you live.
